Eversheds Sutherland Advises 1789 Capital on Closing of $1.2 Billion Real Estate Development FundAugust 18, 2026 Eversheds Sutherland has advised 1789 Capital on the closing of a $1.2 billion real estate development fund. The fund will focus primarily on fast-growing Sun Belt markets, such as Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia and the Carolinas, with investments spanning housing, community development, manufacturing and digital infrastructure, like data centers. Housing, particularly multifamily and workforce housing, is expected to be one of the strategy's biggest areas of focus. 1789 is partnering with Easton Street, a South Florida real estate company, as part of a joint venture that integrates the fund’s investment management and operation. 1789 plans to supplement the committed fund with project-level co-investments and potentially debt, opening individual deals to existing limited partners and outside investors. The Eversheds Sutherland deal team was led by Partner Michael Voynich and included Investments Services & Products Partner Michael Koffler and Counsel Amber Allen, Tax Partner Xenia Garofalo and Counsel Ben Fortenberry and Corporate Associates Trevor Pope and Hani Majeed.
