Emma Shokeir is a tax attorney with a strong foundation in tax law, administrative law, and public policy.
Emma most recently interned with the State and Local Tax (SALT) Practice Group at Eversheds Sutherland where she researched multistate corporate tax issues and contributed to litigation briefs aimed at minimizing client tax exposure. She has also worked with the North Georgia Low Income Taxpayer Clinic where she supported litigation, compliance, and taxpayer advocacy.
Emma also brings experience from roles with the USDA, Georgia State Senate, the Shelby County Public Defender’s Office, and the ACLU, where she contributed to legislative analysis, criminal defense, and civil rights research. Her work reflects a commitment to public service, strategic legal thinking, and cross-sector collaboration.
