Eversheds Sutherland toimi Nasdaq First North Growth Market Finland -markkinapaikalla listatun suomalaisen teknologiayhtiön Merus Power Oyj:n oikeudellisena neuvonantajana Exilionin kanssa tehdyssä EPC-toimitussopimuksessa.

Sopimus koskee 20 MW / 41 MWh:n akkuenergiavarastojärjestelmän (Battery Energy Storage System, BESS) toimittamista Tervolassa sijaitsevalle Varevaaran tuulipuistolle. Sopimukseen sisältyvät lisäksi Merus Powerin kehittämä hybridiohjain sekä kunnossapito- ja elinkaaripalvelut. Merus Power vastaa hankkeen toteutuksesta avaimet käteen -periaatteella.

Hankkeessa toteutettava akkuenergiavarastojärjestelmä on ensimmäinen Suomessa rakennettava järjestelmä, jonka tarkoituksena on tehostaa Fingridin vanhemman verkkosäännöstön mukaisesti verkkoon liitetyn olemassa olevan tuulipuiston toimintaa. Sopimukseen sisältyvän hybridiohjaimen ansiosta energiavarastoa ja tuulipuistoa voidaan käyttää yhtenä koordinoituna kokonaisuutena, mikä parantaa merkittävästi aiemmin rakennetun tuulivoimalaitoksen kannattavuutta.

Yli kahdeksan miljoonan euron arvoinen sopimus allekirjoitettiin 30.6.2026, ja järjestelmän toimituksen odotetaan valmistuvan syksyllä 2027. Kyseessä on kolmas Merus Powerin Exilionille toimittama akkuenergiavarastohanke ja osa pidempää EPC-toimitussopimusten kokonaisuutta, joissa olemme avustaneet Merus Poweria.
