Nicolette Sanders

Nicolette advises on a broad range of Government related matters, including all aspects of legislative process and public law in the UK, regulatory strategy, Government relations activity, such as consultation, policy influencing and engagement, and Parliamentary process and strategy.

Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Nicolette had 17 years of experience in central Government, as a senior civil servant in the Government Legal Department, including leading the legal team in the Cabinet Office, where she advised senior officials and Ministers on legislation and decision making.  Her experience in Government spanned advising on areas such as the powers and establishment of statutory bodies, major policy reform in a variety of policy areas, EU Exit planning, Covid response and national security.  Nicolette maintains a Government facing practice advising Government departments and delivery bodies, as well as deploying her experience to support non-Government clients in a range of sectors, including the transport, defence and industrial sectors.

Nicolette has experience of supporting UK and international clients in their interactions with UK Government whether responding to decisions, regulatory compliance, challenging and influencing Government, or securing Government contracts.  She also advises clients in relation to their engagement with Parliament, including appearances at Select Committees or presenting evidence.
